Politburo member works at Binh Thuan province

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Economics Nguyen Van Binh worked with the Standing Board of the Binh Thuan provincial Party Committee on realizing Resolutions of all levels of Party Congresses.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, reported over the past five years, in the circumstance of difficulties and challenges, local departments closely followed Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress and Resolution of the 12th provincial Party Congress to concretize them into missions and suitable solutions to gain significant improvements.

Total Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased 9% a year, in which industries-construction rose 8.83%, service soared 10.76% and agriculture-forestry-fishery surged 5.25%. Per capita GRDP in 2015 reached USD1,748, up 1.75 fold against 2010.

In the first eight months of the year, Binh Thuan’s socio-economic situation also saw positive growth, such as industrial production value of VND16.3 trillion, up 7.2%; tourism turnover of VND5.76 trillion, up 21.1%; service turnover of VND8.23 trillion, up 11.9%; and commodity export turnover of USD219.2 million, fulfilling 76.7% of the year’s estimate or a year-on-year rise of 18.2%.

In his speech at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh hailed the efforts of Binh Thuan in recent time and asked Binh Thuan to promote its achievements to make the locality develop to be more prosperous and stronger.

For the province’s proposals, he urged ministries and departments to pay close attention to projects such as Luy River water reservoir, La Nga 3 water reservoir, Ta Pao irrigation project and Dau Giay – Phan Thiet highway. In addition, the province should finalize investment procedures, well carry out premise clearance and speed up construction of the above projects./.
