Reunion feast of those who escaped death in brake-failed bus
During the reunion feast of those who escaped death in brake-failed bus, many would like to express sincere thanks to driver Phan Van Bac.
September 11th, at his home in 1A, Can Duoc town, Can Duoc district, Long An province, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong hosted a feast to celebrate the back safe after stormy trip in the afternoon Sept 6th in Bao Loc, Lam Dong.
The feast saw the attendance of more than 30 passengers on this fateful bus, mostly employees of Dieu Khuong Ltd. Construction Company (Can Duoc town).
6 banquet tables were set up at Phong’s house. However, the bus driver, Phan Duy Toan, who is believed to have much luck, couldn’t attend because of being busy.
Mr. Phong said joyfully “This party is to thank Buddha and thank passengers for accompanying together overcome dangers”.
Representatives of local government also share the joy with the bus owner and passengers who have gone a terrifying trip. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Nga – Deputy Secretary of Can Duoc town said, she and local authorities are very glad when people luckily escaped, returning peacefully.
Just met, Ngo Kim Hoan (born 1980) and Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh (born 1986) embraced each other like long time no see. Few days ago, these two people were sitting on the brake failed bus on Bao Loc mountain pass, a scary trip that would make anyone…goosebumps when recounting.
Thanh said, she with her husband and her two children (aged 9 and 2) were participating in the trip organized by Khuong Dien company. When the bus suffered brake failure, all passengers thought they would die. If had not been help from truck driver Phan Van Bac, we would have definitely plunged into abyss.”
Want to meet truck driver to…say thanks
Although there are lots of mixed information, the passengers still expect to meet the truck driver-Phan Van Bac, to express thanks. For them, without his help, they could have ended up in Bao Loc mountain pass.
Vo Danh Ut (born 1980, live in Tan Lan commune, Can Duoc district)smiled and said: “We were too lucky to still be here, see everyone; if unlucky, we now perished in Bao Loc mountain pass”. Though 5 days since the incident, he still shudders every night, Ut said.
Vo Yen Nhi (born in 2002) were with her family members in that “death” bus. Yen Nhi said she did not want to recall the experience because she was very scared.
“When the bus run faster, people became panic. I hugged my mother shouting. It was not until the bus had stopped that we realized we were still alive.”
During the party, laughter, comforting words and encouragement overwhelm the fear they had to undergo a few days ago. For them, escaped death was inexpressible joy. Thanks to experienced, wise people like Phong, Toan, Bac, they have chance to sit down together today.
