Singaporean business owners and representatives of the country's manufacturing federation have been rolling out the red carpet for Vietnamese enterprises to gain a foothold in the island city-state.

The meeting and dialogue between the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and nearly 40 Vietnamese enterprises on September 25 has generated practical outcomes.

Remarkably, after the official ceremony and speeches made by delegates of two sides, representatives of Singaporean enterprises had proactively seeked chance to directly connect with prospective Vietnamese partners operating in the same fields or sharing the same interests.

The talks had opened bright prospect for various plans for business partnership, cooperation in the time to come, ranging from the field of cosmetic, pharmacy to steel, real estates, etc.

According to the President of SMF, Doughlas Foo Singapore always creates favorable condition for Vietnamese enterprises to grow their business in the country. Currently, Vietnam-Singapore trade turnover has hit the value of over USD 15 billion. Singapore is also the leading investor of ASEAN in Vietnam.

The meeting is a valuable platform for two sides to continue establishing and strengthening the relations between enterprises, in order to reap new achievements together, especially in encouraging Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Singapore.

Speaking at the event, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam - ASEAN Friendship and Cooperation Association, Le Cong Phung expressed his hope that Singaporean partners will keep standing by Vietnamese firms by providing useful consultation regarding effective way of operating and developing businesses, like what they have been doing to support Vietnamese firms for decades.

For his part, representative of the Federation also took the chance to share with Vietnamese businesses on how to launch and run a company in Singapore in compliance with the country's law, ensuring cost-effective and optimum level of benefit.
