South Korean companies send aid to disaster-affected people in Vietnam

(VNF) - In the afternoon of November 27th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam - RoK Friendship Association under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) received aid from the Republic of Korea (RoK) - Vietnam Friendship Association and two South Korean companies including Panko Vina Corporation and Panko Tam Thang Co., ltd., supporting local people affected by natural disasters in Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Thanh Hoa provinces.

Speaking at the ceremony, President RoK-Vietnam Friendship Association Choi Young Joo expressed his sympathy for severe damages caused by natural calamities. He hoped that this support from the group would contribute to stabilising the lives of people in the flood.

Aid representative, Pham Tien Van, Vice President of Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association, said that floods due to natural disasters in early October caused serious damage to people in the three provinces. On behalf of the Association and Vietnamese people, he appreciated President Choi’s heart for his timely support, helping people in flooded areas will soon overcome adversity to stabilise their lives.

At the end of the handover ceremony, President Choi, representing Panko Vina Corporation, presented symbolic aid to the leaders of three provinces.

Specifically, the northern provinces of Hoa Binh and Yen Bai will receive VND 200 million (USD 8,800) and 40,000 T-shirts each, and the central province of Thanh Hoa will be presented with VND 100 million (USD 4,400) and 40,000 T-shirts./.
