Representatives from the Japanese Embassy, Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and Japanese universities provided participants with useful information on studying in Japan revealed at “Study in Japan” fair 2016 on October 15th-16th.

(VNF) - Representatives from the Japanese Embassy, Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and Japanese universities provided participants with useful information on studying in Japan revealed at “Study in Japan” fair 2016 on October 15th-16th.

The fair was organized at Lotte Hotel, Hanoi on Saturday, October 15th and at Rex Hotel, HCM city on Sunday, October 16th.

Cultural Counselor, Embassy of Japan to Vietnam and representatives from the JASSO, Japan Alumni of Vietnam (JAV) participated in this fair.

This fair is designed to provide students and educators up-to-date and correct information about Japanese higher education and research in order to help the students select appropriate schools and achieve their academic goals.

High school and university students wish to study in Japan came to the fair.

80 Japanese universities/colleges, Japanese language schools and others had participated and exhibited school catalogs, application guidelines, and syllabi in its booth. They responded to a variety of questions including both graduate schools and undergraduate admissions.

In addition, several seminars to promote study in Japan and equip all Vietnamese students with useful local, Japanese knowledge had been offered at the fair.

Notable Japanese speakers and alumnus from the JAV had discussed several topics including: getting to know Japanese culture; etiquette tips for foreign students and first time travelers; finding jobs in Japan as a foreigner; the scholarships system; support policies for foreign students; procedures to apply to Japanese schools and degree recognition; student testimonials, etc.

Close to 39,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Japan in 2016, rising 47 per cent compared to 2014 figure. Vietnamese students form the second largest community among over 200,000 international students from more than 170 countries studying in Japan, just after China./.
