Architect Hoang Tuan Long shared that he had been waiting for the moment to receive the record for a few months. His father, sister and many friends attended the ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City to congratulate him. Long came up with the idea of creating a mandala in 2021 but decided to delay his project due to Covid-19. The author was touched when he talked about his mother who died of Covid-19. She is the one who shared his idea and performed the first steps for the Mandala Universe with him. He also thanked 379 people who contributed to creating the work.
In March, after completing the work, he sent information to the Asian Record Organization. The mandala earned him records in Vietnam and Asia for a toothpick work which gathers the most people.
The “Mandala Universe,” measuring 1.4m x 1.4m and made of 27,000 toothpicks, is a BOARC-style work of art designed and implemented by Architect – Record Holder Hoang Tuan Long over a period of three months. The boarc mandala features 379 words from the Great Compassion Mantra. WorldKings describes boarc as “a delicate mixture of traditional and modern art that represents toothpicks’ slender but sustainable nature, which makes his miniature models extremely appealing.”
