In his letter that he sent to teachers and those working in the education sector on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), Minister Nha conveyed his best wishes to them on their traditional day.

He praised the teachers and educational staff for their great efforts and huge contributions to the overall success of the sector, particularly those in mountainous and remote areas, sea and islands regions.

He called for every effort from teachers and staff in the education sector in overcoming difficulties, realising the tasks and solutions set for the 2017-2018 academic year, and pushing ahead with reforms in teaching and management methods.

In celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, 40 outstanding teachers in Ho Chi Minh City were honoured with the Vo Truong Toan award at a ceremony held on November 19, in recognition of their innovative teaching methods and great contributions to the education sector.

The Vo Truong Toan award, co-organised by the city Department of Education and Training, Sai Gon Giai Phong (Saigon Liberty) newspaper, and Prudential Vietnam Company, has been granted to a total of 576 teachers in the city since it was first launched in 1998.
