Telephone exports rises over 32%
Telephone export turnover reached USD20.18 billion in the first eight months this year, a year-on-year rise of 32.6%, according to statistics by the General Department of Customs.
With such a huge export value, telephone and its components contributed the largest amount to Vietnam’s export growth. Meanwhile, foreign-invested enterprises made up USD20.12 billion of the eight-month figure.

The EU is the largest importer of Vietnam's telecoms products amounting to USD6.7 billion, up 22.3% and 33.2% of the total. Following it was the UAE at USD3.17 billion (up 23%), the US at USD1.78 billion (up 109.5%) and Germany at USD1.2 billion (up 42.2%).
In August, exports of the commodity group were valued at USD3.02 billion, a 19.1% increase over a month earlier (equivalent to USD485 million).
This month enjoyed a month-on-month 16.7% rise in exports of computer, electronic products and spare parts at USD1.42 billion. This figure brought the total export turnover of the commodity in the Jan-Aug period to USD9.99 billion.
The EU topped the list of importers of Vietnam’s commodity groups at USD1.97 billion, up 57.9%, followed by the US (USD1.74 billion, up 60.2%), China (USD1.72 billion, up 31.3%) and Hong Kong-China (USD1.15 billion, up over 141%)./.
