The information Noi Bai International Airport hacked is denied
Flight information screens at Noi Bai international airport not working in the afternoon August 22nd is due to technical error.
Around 14:30 August 22nd, some flight information screens at the terminal T1, Noi Bai International Airport suddenly displayed different colors and technical specifications instead of flight information.
Some passengers took screenshots, uploaded them to social networks and connected the incident with the cyber attack at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat last month.
Even, some said that check-in counter had switched to manual procedure completion.
However, representatives of Vietnam Airlines said it was only a technical error that caused the incident. To ensure the operation, ground attendants had to check-in manually.
At the same day, Mr Vu The Phiet, Director of Noi Bai International Airport confirmed that the incident was completely not by hackers but technical fault.
The incident affects 6 check-in counters of Vietnam Airlines, causing them unable to work in a short time, hence Vietnam Airlines’ ground attendants must check-in manually.
“The incident happened merely a short time and was fixed immediately. So, it does not affect to Vietnam Airlines’ activities”, Mr. Phiet said.
On July 29th, some flight information screens at both Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport had been compromised to display offensive messages toward Vietnam and the Philippines, along with distorted information about the East Vietnam Sea.
China 1937CN Team claimed responsibility for the hack./.
