Vietnam's trade surplus hits USD100 million in July

Of this, import turnover posted USD95 billion, down 0.9% year on year, while exports were valued at USD96.8 billion, up 5.3% over a year earlier.

With these, Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of USD1.8 billion in the seven months. In July, the country saw an excess of exports over imports of about USD100 million with exports valued at USD14.7 billion and imports at USD14.6 billion.

Regarding markets, in the Jan-July period, Vietnam continued to mainly export commodities to the US, the EU and China. Meanwhile, the country imported a large volume of commodities from China, the Republic of Korea, ASEAN and Japan.

Specifically, although the domestic economic area still witnessed high trade deficit, exports of the area in the seven months increased 2.4%; showing that it gained recovery in production./.
