Training of trainers on organic agriculture in Dong Thap

The week long TOT course on Organic farming and Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) has just started in Dong Thap Province on May 20 for farmers, local staff of Agricultural Extensionm as well as secondary and high school teachers. The staff of Agricultural Extension center of Ben Tre Province took a role as trainer.
On the second day, the participants went to the field to observe ecosystem and learnt about what was ‘healthy soil’. On the third day, they learnt how to make compost and introduction on PGS organic standard. And on the fourth day, introduction about PGS organic standard, PGS, botanical pesticide, bokashi....were delivered to participants.
Seed to Table, with sponsorship from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is dedicated to the promotion of eco-friendly agricultural practices as a means of supporting community development in Vietnam, according to its website./.
