Two additional Senior Lieutenant Generals for Ministry of Public Security
(VNF) - On March 23rd, State President Truong Tan Sang presented decisions to promote from Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General rank for the two Vice Ministers of Public Security, Nguyen Van Thanh and Pham Dung.
Mr Truong Tan Sang said that the promotion is the great recognition of the Party and State for the contributions’ of the two officials, saying that they should continuously uphold their profession and skill to support the Ministry in actively serving the nation and the people.
The most important mission for the armed force in the future is strictly protect the elections of the 14th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, born in 1957, had worked for the Public Security sector, then became Chairman and Secretary of the Hai Phong city Party Committee, and Vice Head of the PCC Office. He was appointed Vice Minister of Public Security in December 2015.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Dung was born in 1956. The Associate Professor, Doctor official was rotated from Vice Minister of Home Affairs to Vice Minister of Public Security in December 2015, holding position as Head of General Department of Security II.
So far, the Ministry of the Public Security has eight Vice Ministers, including seven Senior Lieutenant Generals and one Lieutenant General./.
