Universities of Vietnam, New Zealand discuss collaboration plan

(VNF) – The University of Languages and International Study (ULIS) (Vietnam National University - VNU) on January 29 held a reception for the delegates from the Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) (New Zealand).

Vice Rector of ULIS, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Ngo Minh Thuy, Associate Dean of Humanities & Social Science Faculty Office, John Macalister; former Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam, advisor of VUW in Vietnam, Haike Manning, attended the meeting.

The two institutions took the ocassion to learn about each other's history, the majors offering, core competencies. They afterwards exchanged in details on cooperation plans regarding joint degree, quality assessment, scientific research, among others.

Based on the shared values and strengths, the two universities’ representative affirmed the willingness to kick start long-term partnerships and promise to create optimal condition for the two sides to develop the relations. The specific cooperation plan will continue to be discussed in the time to come.

VUW is one of the most credible institution in New Zealand. According to the QS World Rankings by Subject 2015, VUW is among the top 150 universities in the world. It has been offering 17 majors, including Law, IT, Computer Science, Business, English language and literature, Humanities and Social Sciences, Design and Architecture./.
