US Education Fair 2017 captures mass attention
(VNF) - The US Education Fair taking place in Hanoi on Mar 3 captured mass attention of the public. The event brings together representatives of 62 universities and colleges from US.
The Education Fair is a chance for prospective students to get latest updates on multi aspects of US higher education including majors,curriculum, admission requirements & competitiveness, scholarship/financial aid, and career opportunities. The information is directly provided by admission officers, which are considered highly relevant, precise and useful for students.
Especially, during the event, there is a consultation session regarding Non-Immigration visas offered by Consular Officers of the US Embassy.
The event also benefited participating universities and colleges, as it keep them updated on the trend of demand, preference and background of prospective students.
Nhat Ha, 16, student of the Hanoi-Amsterdam highschool, wishes to pursue bachelor degree in news media & communication in US. The reason for choosing US, according to Ha, is because of the “most generous financial aid policy”.
Tung, 24, fresh graduate from the Hanoi University of Transportation, dreams of getting his Master degree in Bridge Construction from a US university. Tung said, in order to make his dream come true, he is working hard to improve his English proficiency. Tung has been a regular visitors to the American Culture Center in Hanoi, where he can get access to a huge source of English learning materials.
Currently, there are over 21,000 Vietnamese students studying in the US. Most of them are taking degree program. The major of study are as perse as: engineering, business, finance, economics, science, arts performance, etc.
According to the US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius, students play the role of cultural ambassadors who help foster mutual understanding between the Americans and the Vietnamese, as they have chance to live in both countries. Furthermore, when the graduates come back home, what they have learnt in US can be used to positively contribute to Vietnam's prosperity./.
