The event, which was co-organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Barcelona Port Authority, aimed to offer an opportunity for the two sides’ enterprises to meet and seek business cooperation.
At the conference, VCCI’s Vice Chairman, Hoang Quang Phong, stated that Vietnam is pleased to welcome businesses from Barcelona to explore the Vietnamese market. Through the event, the two countries’ businesses sought cooperation opportunities, particularly in the fields of new and renewable energy, supporting industries and tourism, he added.
President of the Barcelona Port Authority, Merce Conesa, stated that the port wished to cooperate with Vietnamese firms, particularly in logistics, for their development.
Barcelona port is an advanced port with many maritime routes linked to Vietnam. The volume of goods between the two sides has increased at a rapid rate.
Over recent years, Vietnam has been one of the main trading partners of Spain in ASEAN, with two-way trade reaching over US$3 billion in 2017. The two countries set a target of raising the trade turnover to US$5 in 2020./.
