The ASEAN Riyadh Committee (ARC) held a successful ASEAN Family Day on December 8. As the ARC Chair, the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia had organized the event.

This is the last activity hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in its capacity as the ARC Chair in the Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Xuan Dung summarized ARC's activities in recent times, with many activities held for the first time such as a working session with the Secretary of State in charge of foreign affairs of the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry, a discussion on ASEAN - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) relations with the Gulf Research Center, as well as other important activities such as the flagraising ceremony to celebrate ASEAN's Founding Day, the Amazing ASEAN event at the Lulu supermarket chain, among others.

ARC activities chaired by Vietnam in 2023 have received high appreciation from ASEAN countries, as well as the Diplomatic Corps and local authorities, thereby affirming the position and image of Vietnam in particular and ASEAN in general.

Colleagues and family members from the ASEAN Embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand showcased traditional dances and music, and fun-filled activities for both adults and children.

At the end of the ASEAN Family Day, Ambassador Dang Xuan Dung, who had served as the ARC Chair, handed over the 2024 ARC Chairmanship to Indonesian Ambassador Abdulaziz Ahmad.
