In 2014, Vietnam’s exports to the market amounted to USD246.5 million, a 40% increasefrom the previous year. Main exports included coffee, telecommunications, rice, computers, seafood, pepper, footwear, fruit and vegetables. Coffee proved to be the biggest seller to Algeria with sales turnover in 2014 reaching USD94 million.

Vietnam’s imports from Algeria this year have only reached USD2.4 million with machinery and devices, pharmaceutical products, ore and minerals making up the bulk

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam recently organised trade promotion activities to help domestic enterprises to intensify exports to Algeria. Activities included online trade exchange seminars, visits to explore the trade opportunities and international fairs in Algeria. Thanks to these, enterprises in both countries had the opportunity to explore cooperation and to seek partners, contributing to speeding up two-way trade relations between Vietnam and Algeria./.
