Vietnam gets additional USD250 million loans for Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway
This is one of nine cooperation documents which was signed on Monday afternoon (Sept 12th) between Vietnam and China. In talks with Chinese Premier Li Kequiang, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc called for more investment from China into the field of high-tech agriculture, manufacturing, supporting industries, recycled energy.
At the talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang yesterday (Sept 12), Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam would continue to innovate comprehensively, synchronously; promote industrialization, modernization and international integration.
Vietnam is focusing on macroeconomic stability, economic – cultural development, the exercise of democracy, social justice; creating an environment of peace and stability for the country’s growth; striving Vietnam soon to become an industrialized country towards modernization.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc also exchanged frankly with Chinese leaders about existing problems in areas of economic cooperation – trade between the two countries.
He stressed that both sides should encourage agencies and enterprises to actively exchange, so as to remove difficulties and obstacles; promoting economic relations, trade and sustainability.
Accordingly, PM suggested China to cooperate, take practical measures to gradually balance trade; continue to import Vietnam’s dominant goods, especially agricultural, forestry and fishery products, including rice; early license Vietnam’s meat products, milk and fruit juice to export to Chinese market.
In term of investment, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam attaches great importance to attracting high, effective and environmentally-friendly technologies while calling for more investment from China in the field of high- tech agriculture, manufacturing, supporting industries, recycled energy.
He urged China to grant additional loans worth USD 250 millions for Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway projects, complete the planning of Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway.
At the talks, Nguyen Xuan Phuc also recommended the two sides continue to strengthen cooperation in regulating water flow in Mekong river upstream during dry season; discuss the use of hotline on unplanned incidents of fishing activities on the sea, adequately cooperate in handling this issue; increase the exchange of experience in environmental protection, response to climate change; effectively implement agreements at the 9th Session of the Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation between Vietnam and China.
After the talks, the two Prime Minister witnessed the signing of nine cooperation documents./.
