Under the pact, the bilateral collaboration will be carried out based on available resources of each side and on the principles of fairness, win-win benefit, and respecting each country’s law and regulations.
The sides will work together in various areas, including policies to ensure income like those on social support and pension; as well as welfare policies and programmes related to newborn, children, the elderly and the disabled.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Minister of the MoLISA Le Tan Dung said Vietnam can learn from the RoK’s models and policies for social security targeting the disabled and the old, low-income earners, and other vulnerable groups.
The just-inked MoU will set up a cooperation framework for the two ministries to increase join activities and experience exchanges in the sector, he stated.
Vice Minister of the MOGW Kim Gang-lip said the collaboration with Vietnam is among key works of the RoK Government, adding that the pact will open up opportunities for bilateral engagements in social welfare, which is yet to be done in the past time.
