Vietnam, Spain pledge to facilitate business connectivity
In a political consultation session held in Hanoi on January 11, Vietnam and Spain have pledged to facilitate business exchanges and connectivity, especially in the fields of clean and renewable energy, environment, infrastructure and tourism.
During the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Secretary of State of Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ignacio Ybanez Rubio expressed agreement to deepen bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam - Spain strategic partnership, strengthen mutual understanding and create a new driving force for bilateral ties.
They shared common view that the two nations have maintained visits and exchange of delegations at all levels, offered mutual support in multilateral forums and international organisations, particularly the United Nations, as well as further strengthened bilateral ties in trade, national defense-security, justice, transportation, culture, and education.
Son wished that more Spanish firms would increase their business in Vietnam in the near future.
The two sides affirmed to accelerate the approval and implementation of projects funded by Spanish official development assistance in Vietnam, including the construction of the No.5 metro line in Ho Chi Minh City.
They also hold discussion on issues concerning both countries such as: the East Sea dispute, economic and political situation of the European Union (EU), the Asia-Europe Economic Meeting, cooperation prospects between ASEAN and EU.
This occasion also marked the inauguration of two Vice Honorary Consul of Spain: Alejandro Dominguez Herrera and Jose Sanchez-Barroso Gonzalez, respectively in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang./
