Vietnamese, Malaysian enterprises seek business opportunities
Vietnam Ambassador to Malaysia Le Quy Quynh opening remarks at the conference
The conference attracted the participation of nearly 40 SMEs enterprises of Vietnam and dozens of Malaysia. The event took place in the context of the two sides keep strengthening their strategic partnership. Cooperation between the two countries continued to develop strongly in many fields, especially the economy. Malaysia is currently one of Vietnam’s 10 largest investors.
Opening remarks, Vietnam Ambassador to Malaysia Le Quy Quynh was glad to share the trade turnover between the two countries is expected to reach USD 14 billion by the end of this year.
Mr. Le Cong Phung, former Standing Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, currently Chairman of Vietnam – ASEAN Friendship Association emphasized, economic cooperation has affirmed the important role and contributions of the two countries’ enterprises, not only the role of large corporations but also SMEs firms.
Phung also expressed his hope that, through this conference, enterprises will gather more information, expanding networks, seeking suitable partners and seizing the best investment opportunities.
Attending the event, representatives of Malaysia – Vietnam Chamber of Commerce introduced to Vietnamese firms about Malaysia’s experience in market development in 4.0 era.
Mr. Pham Quoc Anh, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Malaysia shared information on investment opportunities and policies in Malaysia, and experience of cooperation with Malaysia businesses.
Also within the framework of the conference, earlier on September 25, there was the meeting between Singapore Production Federation and representatives of nearly 40 Vietnamese enterprises.
The Vietnam-ASEAN Investment Promotion Conference is co-organized by the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Association, the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore and Malaysia, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, the Vietnam Business Association in Malaysia and Vietnam Trade Promotion & Tourism Joint Stock Company.
