According to General Dung, like other sectors, to integrate in overseas markets, the telecoms sector must be licensed by the host government or allowed to buy a company specialized in the same industry. The investor also needs to grasp thoroughly local political situation and market’s competitiveness.

However, General Dung stressed that it is important to receive information support from Vietnamese representative missions abroad, especially information about local policies, culture, macroeconomy, and even weather.

“When we need to meet with partners, ambassadors help us. Facing difficulties of legal documents in a foreign country, we often receive effective assistance from these missions”, said Viettel’s Chairman and General Director.

General Dung also stressed that one of the Viettel’s main values is the military discipline.

According to Dung, their self-awareness of their missions and military discipline helps Viettel’s military people well perform their tasks on their own in a foreign country especially when they work in remote and mountainous areas to expand the Group’s network.

“Regarding recent successes in its overseas investment, Viettel has had advantages in some countries, such as Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar thanks to the fruitful cooperation between militaries of Vietnam and these countries,” General Dung added./.
