VNA's Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association launched
(VNF) – The Vietnam News Agency's Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, a member of the Central Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association (under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations – VUFO) was officially inaugurated on January 5 in Hanoi.

Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Head of Comission for Organization, Head of Committee for Members of National Assembly, Chairman of the Central Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, Tran Van Tuy; the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) leaders, former experts and officials who have supported the Laos News Agency (KPL) in the past, attended the event.
The Laos side was represented by Lieutenant colonel Duongmany Sivisay, First Secretary, Vice defense attache of the Laos Embassy in Vietnam.
The current executive committee of the VNA Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association consists of 11 members, headed by its president, Deputy General Director of VNA, Dinh Dang Quang.
Addressing the ceremony, President of the Central Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association, Tran Van Tuy, expressed delight on the inauguration of the VNA’s Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association. The establishment of the Association is a significant event in the political life of people’s organizations, he stressed.
Tuy also hoped that the Association would contribute practically and positively to the external affairs work in general, and the Vietnam – Laos unity in particular. The Association will nourish the special traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperations between Vietnam and Laos, he said.
In the last 50 years, VNA and KPL has been unwaveringly lending supports to each other, together overcome multi challenges in the course of national defense and development./.
