(VNF) - The 15 best contestants competed in the final of the English Speaking contest “Speak now: in L’Espace, Hanoi on November 18.

The contest is a playground for 6-11- year old who love English and want to practice confidence in English communication.

The program is co-organized by UVES, the Vietnam – UK Friendship Organization, sponsored by Delegation of European Union to Vietnam and the Embassy of Finland to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam – UK Friendship Association, said “Speak now” is an educational event to commemorate the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and UK in 2018.

The competition is also a bridge to bring children to the new horizons and help them nurture their passion for global language.

The Vietnam – UK friendship Association is member of the Vietnam Union Friendship Organizations, officially established in 19998. Up to now, the Association is home of 9 member organizations and UVES will soon become the 10th.

The association aims to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries economically, politically and diplomatically. One of its main focus is to promoting cultural and educational exchanges between the two peoples to nurture young generation.

2017 is a year of many important events to celebrate the 45 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and UK. ‘’Speak now’’ is among of them.

Speak now is ‘’hot’’ right from the start, attracting hundreds of registered participants in Hanoi and neighboring provinces. 50 best candidates who passed the preliminary round had the opportunity to meet intimately with Ambassador – Head of the Delegation of European Union Bruno Angelet. The top 15 contestants were chosen to compete at the final round.
