Maintaining sustainable growth coupled with ecological environment protection, effective natural resources management and use,… is among sustainable development goals by 2030 of Vietnam.

17 sustainable development goals of Vietnam by 2030

The workshop saw the attendance of ministries, parliament, non-government organizations and research institutes.

On Nov 11th, Ministry of Planning and Investment organized a consultation workshop on national action plan to implement the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

At the workshop, the draft of national action plan was proposed, of which 17 goals are determined, namely:

To end poverty in all its form every where

To end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

To ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

To ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

To ensure access to affordable reliable and sustainable energy for all.

To promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

To build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

To reduce inequality within the society.

To make urban and rural areas resilient and sustainable; ensure safe living and working environment; reasonable allocation of residents and laborers by region.

To ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

To take timely and efficient action to combat climate change and natural hazards.

To conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

To protect and sustainably develop forests, conserve biopersity, develop ecosystem services, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation.

To promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

To strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment said the Ministry was completing the draft of national action plan for submission to the Prime Minister. This action plan will be legal basis for Vietnam to implement the commitments to international community, expressing Vietnam’s responsibilities for joint efforts of sustainable development.

This workshop aims to encourage contributions of all relevant parties in drafting national action plan./.
