The Vice President emphasized that all children should fully benefit from the achievements of the country's 40-year Doi Moi. They should have adequate conditions for comprehensive development, and become key human resources to realize the aspiration of a prosperous Vietnam.
The program is an annual activity of the Vietnam Children's Fund, aimed at supporting children in special and difficult circumstances while mobilizing domestic and foreign social resources for children.
Since its inception in 2008, the 'Spring for Children' program has mobilized nearly 1,580 billion VND and supported about 4 million children in special and difficult circumstances through various initiatives, including scholarships, clean water systems, bicycle donations, surgeries for children, building classrooms and boarding houses in difficult and mountainous areas, aiding orphans, homeless and destitute children, and providing timely relief for children in disaster and epidemic areas.
In 2024, the Fund raised more than 116 billion VND and supported over 118 thousand children through activities such as maxillofacial surgeries, heart surgeries, donations of bicycles, scholarships, and learning tools. The program also provided nutrition support, assisted in building schools, boarding houses, bridges, and playgrounds, and provided emergency support for children affected by natural disasters.
