In his opening remarks, Nguyen Nam Hai, vice president of HAUFO, emphasized that the conference was organized to deliver comprehensive, systematic, and up-to-date information on the current international landscape. Amid complex global shifts—including strategic competition among major powers, climate crises, pandemics, and food and energy security—timely and accurate information is essential for effectively implementing people-to-people diplomacy. This, he said, contributes to the successful realization of the foreign policy goals set by the Party and the State.

Speakers at the conference provided in-depth analyses of major global geopolitical developments, including the race for artificial intelligence supremacy, the Russia–Ukraine conflict, and U.S. foreign policy under the new administration of President Donald Trump.
The conference also highlighted emerging trends in global grassroots movements, particularly those advocating for peace, democracy, sustainable development, and human rights. Vietnam continues to play an active role through contributions such as participating in United Nations peacekeeping missions, and providing humanitarian aid in disaster-stricken areas, including recent rescue efforts in Myanmar. These actions underscore Vietnam’s commitment and responsibility in the international arena.
Speaking at the event, Vu Thi Anh Phuong, deputy director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underlined the importance of people-to-people diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the Vietnamese people and international partners. She noted that external communication and public diplomacy efforts have been increasingly expanded, helping the international community gain a more accurate and in-depth understanding of Vietnam’s people, policies, and national development.

Phuong recommended that in the coming period, people-to-people diplomacy should continue to prioritize expanding cooperation with international civil society organizations, leveraging external resources to support socioeconomic development, environmental protection, climate change response, and assistance for vulnerable groups. She also stressed the need to intensify communication efforts about Vietnam’s achievements in human rights protection and sustainable development, thereby affirming the country's stature, values, and role on the global stage.
In her closing remarks, Tran Thi Phuong, standing vice president of HAUFO, praised the conference for delivering meaningful and insightful information. She affirmed that the event provided an important opportunity for both full-time and part-time personnel engaged in people-to-people diplomacy in Hanoi to gain broader, deeper perspectives on global affairs and to better understand the mission and role of grassroots diplomacy in the current context. She called for continued efforts to enhance the quality and effectiveness of people-to-people diplomatic activities, contributing to the development of a modern, comprehensive, and deeply integrated diplomatic framework.
