33rd Vietnam International Trade Fair - Vietnam Expo 2024 Kicks Off

550 booths of more than 480 enterprises from 16 countries and territories attended the event, focusing on introducing five main categories: Vietnam Export and Investment Promotion Pavilions; National Pavilions; Electronics, Machinery, and Supporting Industries; Digital Technology and E-commerce and Food and Beverage.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended and spoke at the opening of the longest-running annual trade promotion event in Vietnam.
Vietnam Expo 2024 also recorded the participation of a large number of leaders of Ministries, branches, relevant agencies, representatives of Embassies, consulates, foreign trade promotion organizations in Vietnam, Representatives of Federations, Industry Associations, businesses displaying booths, and press agencies.
First established in 1991, over more than 30 years, Vietnam Expo has gradually affirmed its role and influence when it is always chosen to participate by domestic businesses and international trade promotion organizations to introduce products, expand business, and exploit investment opportunities in the Vietnamese market.
At this year's Vietnam Expo, prominent among the 16 participating countries and territories is the presence of 4 large-scale pavilions of India, South Korea, Russia, and China, which demonstrates the appeal of the Vietnamese market in attracting investment and fostering sustainable foreign trade cooperation.

In addition to the OCOP product booth, the Vietnamese export goods display area - Vietnam Exports also has the presence of nearly 50 businesses from 23 provinces and cities including Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Ninh, Ben Tre, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Long An, Nghe An, Nha Trang, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Thanh Hoa, Tien Giang, Thai Nguyen, Son La, Yen Bai.
Among them, one of the highlights at Vietnam Expo 2024, The Hanoi Promotion Agency on Investment, Trade and Tourism (HPA) will promote the city's strengths, potential, and investment policies; export products, the capacity of Hanoi enterprises; connecting trade with domestic distribution enterprises and foreign import enterprises in the fields of supporting industries, electrical equipment, and food.
Besides, in order to provide useful market information as well as support businesses to penetrate the market most directly, the investment promotion and industrial development exhibition area continues its mission in creating momentum for the development of key industries associated with local economic development orientations from key provinces, cities and industrial zones across the country.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized: "In the context of global trade being heavily affected by trade wars and local conflicts, organizing large-scale, highly effective trade promotion activities to stimulate consumption, helping the business community promote promotion, introduce products, seek partners, and expand markets is extremely necessary. With that meaning, today, The 33rd Vietnam International Trade Fair - Vietnam Expo 2024 is officially opened”.

The Minister said that 2023 was a year full of difficulties and challenges for the global economy, including Vietnam. However, with the drastic leadership and direction of the Party and State leaders and the timely and effective intervention of ministries and central branches, the outstanding efforts of the business community, along with the active support of the international community, Vietnam's economy over the past year has overcome difficulties and challenges, continued the momentum of recovery and development and achieved remarkable results.
Vietnam has ensured macroeconomic stability, controlled inflation, promoted economic growth, and increased domestic trade in the context of unfavorable production and export markets. E-commerce continues to grow strongly, maintaining its leading position in the world in growth rate, creating motivation for the development of digital transformation.
Especially in terms of export and import, the country's trade balance continues to record a trade surplus for the 8th consecutive year with an estimated surplus of more than USD 26 billion for the whole year 2023, an increase of nearly 3 times that of 2022.
“Among those outstanding achievements, there is an important and positive contribution of trade promotion activities with the drastic and effective implementation of many foreign trade support solutions and the application of many appropriate forms of promotion, which ensure timely circulation and supply of essential goods and promoting import and export", Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized.
