42 UXOs removed and safely destroyed by NPA-RENEW
From August 27 to 29, NPA - RENEW team has conducted 12 spot tasks, in response to coordinates of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) provided by Non-Technical Survey team and UXO callouts reported to the hotline by local residents.

The team’s quick response has resulted in 42 items of dangerous UXO being removed and safely destroyed, contributing to ensure safety for local people in their daily activities.
As the southernmost district, Hai Lang suffered devastation of the war for a longer time than other parts of Quang Tri Province where the fighting ended after the signing of Paris Agreement in 1973. As a result, post-war casualties related to UXO in Hai Lang rank the second in the province with 1,386 deaths and injuries.
Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Survey & Clearance Program implemented at Project RENEW (Restoring the Environment and Neutralizing the Effects of the War) is funded by the U.S. Department of State and a cooperation project between NPA and Quang Tri Province Department of Foreign Affairs./.
