78 outstanding students in Hanoi receive Hessen scholarships
VNF - On May 17, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, Hessian Ministry for Science and the Arts, World University Service Germany (WUS) and Vietnam – Germany Friendship Associations jointly held a ceremony at the Temple of Literature to award Hessen scholarships to outstanding students studying in Hanoi.
78 outstanding students have received scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Dr. Bui Cong Tho, Chief Representative of the Hessen Scholarship Office in Vietnam, expressed his gratitude to the German organizations for their valuable support to Vietnamese students. These scholarships are not only material support but also spiritual encouragement that alleviate the difficulties of the students and help them to achieve the highest academic results.
Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, President of WUS, said that each year the Hessian Ministry for Science and Arts awards 200 scholarships (216 euros) to excellent students at more than 50 universities, college and professional high school nationwide. Scholarships are not only a financial support to disadvantaged students, but also a bridge for the friendship between Vietnam and Germany.

On behalf of students receiving scholarships, Tran Thi Thu Ha, senior student at the Faculty of German Language and Culture, Vietnam National University, thanked the organizations and inpiduals who brought the scholarships to disadvantaged students. She hoped that there would be more and more students to be awarded these scholarship so that they could overcome difficult circumstances and study well.
