Speaking at the event, Do Viet Ha, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, praised KAS for its extensive experience and role in various cooperative programs across Vietnam. He noted that the foundation has worked effectively with numerous institutions, including the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the National Economics University, and the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission. He emphasized that the collaboration with RISE marks a meaningful step forward, focusing on crucial areas such as digital transformation, innovation, and strategic consulting for sustainable development.

He expressed hope that the agreement would support the implementation of key national directives, including Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW by the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, as well as Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new context.

Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his desire to strengthen further connections between German organizations and leading Vietnamese universities, not only through governmental channels but also with the support of academic institutions and experts.

The agreement is expected to lay the groundwork for joint initiatives in research, policy dialogue, and digital transformation, thereby contributing to economic development and innovation in both Vietnam and Germany.

Founded in early 2025, RISE is chaired by Nguyen Thanh Phong, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is a political foundation affiliated with Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands (CDU) - the party of former Chancellor Angela Merkel and current Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
