920 Families in Lao Cai Receive USAID Cash Assistance for Typhoon Recovery
The United States Mission to Vietnam, through USAID, is providing over VND6 billion ($245,339) in cash assistance to 920 households most affected by Typhoon Yagi across four communes in Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province. The assistance was provided to households in Coc Khieng hamlet of Viet Tien Commune on November 1.

Households with three or more members will receive VND7 million ($286) each to address their needs including food and household essentials, while those with one or two members will receive VND4.2 million ($171). In picture: On November 1, 40 households in Coc Khieng hamlet of Viet Tien Commune received this cash assistance, which is being rolled out in the four communes by USAID’s partner Catholic Relief Services in collaboration with Lao Cai Provincial Women’s Union, with secure transfers via VietnamPost services. |
