Hao, born in 1965 in Soc Trang province, and residing in An Hoi ward of Ninh Kieu district, has post-graduate diploma and worked as a lecturer at the Technology Faculty of the Can Tho University before he was brought to the court.

According to the verdict, Hao used his Facebook account to share articles with negative contents causing bad impact on the public awareness, while posting distorted information on the orientations and policies of the Party and State, and infringing people’s interest.
