Auto sales reach nearly 25,000 autos sold in March
Auto sales in Vietnam reached 24,802 units in March, up 112% from the previous month and 51% over a year earlier, reported the Vietnam Auto Manufacturers Association (VAMA).
In the first three months of 2016, the Vietnamese market consumed 59,685 units, a year-on-year rise of 23%, including touring autos (6%), commercial autos (55%) and specialized autos (57%).

According to VAMA, assembled auto sales increased from 34,000 to 46,600 units, up over 55%, while more than 13,000 imported autos were sold in the three months, down 36%.
In March, big auto makers continued to see strong growth with Truong Hai speeding up to take the lead with 10,366 sales, accounting for 44.7% of the local auto consumption market.
Meanwhile, Toyota Vietnam ranked second as it sold 4,963 units, up 25% over a year earlier. It was followed by Ford Vietnam with a year-on-year growth of 71% to 2,391 units./.
