In December, the Vietnam Army Corps of Engineers spent their weekends straightening up the yard for Comboni Secondary School, dig holes, and lower gas and oil tanks for 5 gas stations in the Abyei central area. These activities received enthusiastic responses of the local people.
The Corps also sent officers to survey, repair, and build roads for administrative and residential areas so that local government officers and people can commute conveniently. The Vietnamese Army Corps of Engineers also helped repair boats for the people of Mijak village.
On December 16, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Force at the UNISFA Mission coordinated with local authorities to organize medical examinations and medicine distribution for civil servants and employees of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance... in the Abyei central area.

To successfully organize the medical examination, the Vietnamese peacekeeping force printed propaganda posters and posted them in medical examination areas, so the activity attracted doctors from the Level 2+ Field Hospital of Ghana, local doctors, and a large number of volunteers.
The Vietnam Army Corps of Engineers deployed a generator system, specialized medical equipment and a cooling fan system to ensure clinics in hot weather conditions in the Abyei area.
Nearly 250 officials and employees of local government agencies came to register for medical examination, including the Minister of Health, the Minister of Health, and the Mayor of Abyei region.
Major Nguyen Mau Vu, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Army Corps of Engineers, said: "We have conducted mobilization activities such as providing clean water, supporting agricultural works, repairing roads, furniture, boats, providing medical examination and medicine… All these activities demonstrate the nature and good traditions of the Army "of the people, by the people, for the people" and the spirit of "helping your friends is helping yourselves". While performing our duties at the Mission, we always attach importance to organizing humanitarian activities, helping the government and local people to the maximum within our ability."
