The goal of the project is to investigate and survey the distribution of local gray-shanked doucs and provide training to improve conservation architecture and skills to develop a sustainable protection plan for gray-shanked douc in Quang Ngai province in particular, contributing to the recovery and development of key populations of the species in Vietnam. including the objectives as follows:
Objective 1: To collect information on the current distribution status and number of gray-shanked douc species in Quang Ngai province, fully updated as a basis for developing a sustainable management and conservation plan for the species in the province.
Objective 2: To Improve the knowledge and skills of civil servants and forest rangers, officials, and workers of forest owners in Quang Ngai province in using SMART software in forest protection patrols and wildlife rescue skills; to obtain information and data on the distribution and quantity of the gray-shanked douc and assess the threat to the species in the districts of Tra Bong, Son Ha, Son Tay and Ba To through the main activities of the project
Another important goal is to have civil servants, forest rangers, officials, and other personnel become equipped with SMART software in forest protection patrols and biodiversity monitoring. Also, they will further their knowledge and skills in caring for and rescuing wild animals.
