Ca Mau promotes wind power development by 2020
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has adopted scheme to promote wind power development in Ca Mau by 2020, with the vision to 2030, reported the Ca Mau provincial People’s Committee office on May 29th.

According to the scheme, Ca Mau targets to reach the wind power installation and accumulation capacity of 350 MW by 2020 and over 3,600 MW by 2030.
Aiming to reach these targets, the six coastal districts in Ca Mau which have great potential for wind power development were brought into the scheme. Of these, a capacity of nearly 2,300 MW is distributed in 11 communes and towns in Dam Doi, Nam Can and Ngoc Hien districts.For the following phase, the remaining capacity is invested in 10 communes and towns in Phu Tan, Tran Van Thoi and U Minh districts.
From now to 2020, Ca Mau expects to develop five wind power projects on 9,000 hectares in Ngoc Hien and Dam Doi districts with a total installed capacity of about 350 MW, correlative with wind power output of about 997.5 million kWh./.
