Canada Aims To Expand Business In Vietnamese Market

Canadian largest business delegation, led by Minister of International Trade Mary Ng, will come to Vietnam to explore cooperation opportunities between the two countries in 2024.

The visit is expected to take place from March 27 to 29 and focuses on the fields of processed food, biomedicine, clean energy, and information technology.

This trip aims to promote the Vietnam - Canada Comprehensive Partnership and also to expand Canada's presence in the ASEAN region. It also coincides with the second meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation of the two countries in Vietnam.

Minister of International Trade Mary Ng said: She hopes that Canadian businesses participating in this delegation will utilize operations in potential markets like Vietnam and strengthen supply chain connections.

Leaders of Canadian companies will discuss with Vietnamese partners, associations, and businesses to learn about policy-related issues and opportunities to take advantage of the trade agreement, as well as existing mechanisms between the two countries.

This is the second business delegation organized by the Canadian Government within the framework of its Indo-Pacific Strategy worth nearly 2 billion USD.

Last month, Minister Ng led a delegation of over 160 Canadian businesses to Japan. In this strategy, Canada sets five main goals, including expanding trade, investment, and supply chain development in this region.
