China’s National Day marked in Ho Chi Minh city
The Ho Chi Minh city Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam – China Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh city on September 29th held a meeting to mark the 67th anniversary of China’s National Day (October 1st).
Representatives from the Chinese consulate general in Ho Chi Minh city, the city Department of External Relations, former Vietnamese students in China, and the Chinese community living and working in the city, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Duong Quan Ha, Chairman of the Vietnam – China Friendship Association in the city, stressed that Vietnam and China are neighbours with a long-term traditional friendship. The promotion of the healthily and stably developed relations between the two countries, to satisfy the aspirations and interests of the two peoples, is crucial.
Over the past years, the city Union of Friendship Organizations, the Chinese consulate general and the Chinese enterprise community in the city have carried out effective cooperation, contributing to developing the friendship between the two peoples.
Tran Duc Hai, Chinese consul general in Ho Chi Minh city, appreciated the role of the city Union of Friendship Organizations in carrying out people-to-people diplomatic activities, being an important bridge for the Vietnam – China friendship.
According to Mr. Hai, based on the fine relationship between the two countries in terms of politics, economics, people’s exchange and culture, the relationship between localities, including Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh city with China’s Shanghai, has been reinforced, making active contribution to promoting the relationship between the two countries.
On this occasion, the exhibition illustrating Uncle Ho with China is also held in Ho Chi Minh city./.
