(VNF) – The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang city was inaugurated on Friday (October 13^th).

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong and Consul General to Da Nang Xi Hui, leaders of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Da Nang city People’s Committee, leaders of south central provinces and representatives of the Consulate General of Laos and Russia attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Da Nang city People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh highlighted the continuous growth of the partnership between Vietnam and China in general and between Da Nang city and China’s localities in particular.

At the moment, Da Nang city has officially established friendly relations and cooperations with four localities in China. The ties in investment and trade shared by Da Nang and Chinese enterprises, localities are witnessing a rising trend.

Currently, China is investing in 12 projects in Da Nang city, with 17 non-stop flight routes from big cities and provinces of China to Da Nang.

The number of Chinese tourist arrivals to Da Nang is one of the largest among foreign visitors to the city.

The Consulate General of China in Da Nang is expected to serve as a dynamic actor to foster economic, trade, culture and science links; particularly in enhancing practical and fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and Chinese partners, contributing to fostering and consolidating the “comprehensive strategic partnership” between Vietnam and China.

On the occasion, Da Nang city’s authorities pledged to created favorable conditions for the Consulate General to work effectively and ensure its operation to be aligned with international rules, laws and the traditional friendship of the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, Hong Xiaoyong, for his part, thanked the government of Vietnam and Da Nang city for supporting the establishment of the Consulate General in Da Nang and spoke highly about the long-standing friendship between two countries.

Meanwhile, Consul General Xi Hui, on behalf of the Consulate General, expressed willingness to strengthen the coordination with Vietnamese relevant agencies, pledging to effectively fulfill its role in connecting, strengthening exchange, cooperation activities in the region, contributing to the development of the friendship and cooperation between two countries./.
