According to Shi Zhongjun, in recent years, China and Vietnam have carried out cooperation in all fields, developing both in breadth and depth. In terms of economy and trade, China and Vietnam maintain the leading economic-trade relationship among ASEAN countries, an organization of which Vietnam is a member.
In addition, more Chinese enterprises want to come to Vietnam to carry out economic-trade and investment activities. People-to-people exchanges between the two countries are also becoming more vibrant, especially in the fields of education, vocational training, youth exchanges, student, and tourist exchanges. With the positive development trend of bilateral relations, in the next few years, exchanges in these fields will reach new heights.
"Vietnam is a major country within the ASEAN bloc and also a country with great influence. Vietnam will play an important role in promoting ASEAN integration. We expect that through the cooperative relationship between China and Vietnam, we can lead and guide the cooperative relationship between China and ASEAN to become increasingly deep, practical, effective, and comprehensive," said Shi Zhongjun.
The head of the ASEAN-China Center also affirmed that China and ASEAN currently account for 1/3 of the world's population and 1/5 of global GDP, making it a region with great potential. Cooperation between China and ASEAN plays a positive role in the socio-economic development of the region. It is necessary to maximize the potential of cooperation between China and ASEAN through economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as people-to-people exchanges, thereby creating more benefits, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding between the two sides, laying a solid foundation for long-lasting friendship and sustainable cooperation between China and ASEAN.
