Lou expressed his hope in his speech about the Sino – US relations after emphasizing the US – China trade war was “definitely not simply friction over economics and trade,”, in contrast, it was a “prime strategic issue”.

He also showed ‘five cornerstones of the United States’: their military, their money, their talent, their voting system and their fear of adversaries that China and other countries could grasp.

Moreover, he announced “the loss of one super carrier would cost the U.S. the lives of 5000 service men and women. Sinking two would double that toll” and added “What the United States fears the most is taking casualties. We’ll see how frightened America is”.

He considered China’s anti – ballistic missiles and cruise missiles were stronger to destroy US navy aircraft carriers though US was the top military superpower.

Lou Yuan even suggested China should “use its strength to attack the enemy's shortcomings. Attack wherever the enemy is afraid of being hit. Wherever the enemy is weak …"
