According to MPI, an additional capital of VND261.3 trillion was registered by 8,610 operating enterprises. Average registered capital of each firm was VND6.1 billion, a year-on-year rise of 9.4%.

The newly established firms in the five-month period are expected to create jobs for 518,400 workers, up 14.6% over a year earlier.

During the period, 3,884 firms finished procedures for dissolving or stopping their operation, down 0.5% over a year earlier. The majority of them were small-sized firms with less than VND10-billion registered capital, accounting for 93.1%.

The number of firms recovering operations after being suspended was 7,404, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%. According to MPI’s experts, this is considered as a good sign for the economy since the beginning of the year./.
