Cu Chi district recognized as a new rural area
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recognized Cu Chi in Ho Chi Minh city as meeting the new rural area model standard in 2015.

Cu Chi is a suburb district in Ho Chi Minh city with 20 communes and 1 town. So far, the district has had all communes recognized as new rural areas.
The district now has 903 projects, including 420 infrastructure projects, 219 irrigation projects, 59 school projects and 205 cultural material facility projects.
Communes in the district have achieved the basic criteria. Annual average income per capital in the district reaches VND40 million. The poverty rate until 2014 was 3.8% and all people in the district are supplied with fresh water. All the communes in the district are provided standard cultural material facilities./.
