Da Nang city allocates VND1 billion to assist young drug users

In a dialogue with 100 young drug users, Secretary of Da Nang city Party Committee Tran Tho and Chairman of the Da Nang city People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho announced that the city will spend VND1 billion to help young drug users detoxify, join a vocational training and find a job.

In a dialogue with 100 young drug users, Secretary of Da Nang city Party Committee Tran Tho and Chairman of the Da Nang city People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho announced that the city will spend VND1 billion to help young drug users detoxify, join a vocational training and find a job.

During the dialogue, the two leaders of the city shared that everyone makes efforts to develop the city for young owners but it will be insignificant if the youth overindulges drugs and evils.

Mr. Tran Tho advised and encouraged the youths to soon break of drugs and affirmed the city would create conditions for them to make a new life but strictly abolish drug crimes.

According to the plan, Da Nang city will spend VND1 billion for 100 young drug users to join vocational training, purchase working means and borrow loans with preferential interest to start their new life. The city will also cooperate with businesses to create job for young drug users who detoxify successfully.

In the coming time, the Department of Labour, War-Invalid and Social Affairs, the city police, the Association of Women, the Association of War Veterans and the Youth Union of the city will support and help the 100 young drug users.

So far, Da Nang city has around 2,016 drug users./.
