The new Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori on March 31 paid courtesy visits to the leaders of Da Nang city and discussed on how to promote the relations between Japanese partners and the central city in particular, the central provinces in general, reported Da Nang newspaper.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang congratulated Yakabe Yoshinori on his appointment as Consul General of Japan in Da Nang city.

Quang said that Da Nang always values ​​and appreciates the cooperation relations with Japanese partners and localities.

He also expressed his wish that during his working term, Yoshinori would actively connect and introduce Da Nang to establish more cooperative ties with Japanese partners and localities, contributing to tightening closer ties between two countries.

Over the past time, many cultural exchange events, people-to-people exchanges, exchange of international students and workers between Da Nang and Japanese localities and organizations have been held regularly, contributing to tightening the relations between Da Nang and Japan, friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

He affirmed that Da Nang was always willing to roll out the red carpet for Japanese businesses and partners to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in the city.

When meeting with the Japanese guest, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Le Minh Trung informed that in 2023 as Vietnam and Japan celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, he hopes that the Consulate General of Japan will coordinate well in organizing activities on this important occasion.

He pledged that the city authorities were committed to actively supporting Yakabe to well fulfill his assigned tasks during his tenure in the city.

Chinh then expressed his hope that Consul General Yakabe would continue giving a helping hand to the city to connect with Japanese partners and businesses that have strengths in climate change response, environmental pollution treatment, educational development, and smart city building, so as to boost cooperation and investment activities in the future.

Warmly receiving the Consul-General of Japan at the headquarters of the Da Nang People's Council, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Le Minh Trung voiced his wish that the Japanese visitor would act as a bridge to lift the bilateral ties with Japanese localities to a new height in the time to come.

For his part, Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori emphasized that Da Nang city has an important strategic position, located in the economic corridor connecting with Japan.

At the same time affirming that in the coming time, as Consul General will organize many practical activities to introduce and connect Japanese partners to Da Nang; contributing to consolidating and tightening the friendly relationship between the two countries.
