On behalf of the Party, State and the Government of Vietnam, the Deputy PM conveyed a condolence message to the U.S. Government, Congress and the family of Senator John McCain.

For both the government of Vietnam and its people, Senator McCain was a symbol of his generation of senators, and of the veterans of the Vietnam war. It was he who took the lead in significantly healing the wounds of war, and normalizing and promoting the comprehensive Vietnam-U.S. partnership” Minh wrote.

The Deputy PM also noted the appreciation of Vietnam for the efforts Senator McCain had made to cultivate the Vietnam – U.S. ties in the last few decades, wishing the late politician rest in peace and his family will soon overcome the loss.

Senator John McCain passed away on August 25 after a year-long fight with brain cancer.

To pay tribute to Senator McCain, the U.S. Embassy opens a condolence book from August 27-28, from 10 am to 5 pm at Rose Garden Tower, 170 Ngoc Khanh Hanoi to welcome people who wish to share a message with the McCain Family./.
