Disadvantaged youth vocational training workshop inaugurated
The Hanoi Industrial Vocational College on February 24th held an inauguration ceremony for the upgraded automobile technological workshop and increased labour safety in industry and construction vocational workshop. The upgrade requires total capital of VND12 billion.
At the inauguration ceremony
The upgrade was part of the project on assisting disadvantaged young people with vocational training in the 2015-2018 period supported by Plan International, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Hyundai Motor Company and Huyndai E&C.
After completion, the project is expected to train 200 disadvantaged young people from different parts of the country. Those from poor families will have a chance to access new equipment and technologies in an attempt to increase their skills competitiveness on the labour market.
Under the project, each year, hundreds of scholarships in automobile technology and construction safety training will be provided for disadvantaged young labourers. In addition, the project will link with enterprises to create employment opportunities for the disadvantaged trainees after graduation.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Glenn Gibney, Country Director of Plan International Vietnam, said that increasing capacity for young people was an important project for his organization.
He expressed his hope that the project would provide vocational training opportunities for disadvantaged young labourers to satisfy the demand for the labour market in the future, while assisting the labourers in increasing their income and promoting economic development in Vietnam./.
