The year 2024 has been a remarkable period for WVI, as the organization has made significant contributions to supporting and accompanying Vietnamese children, families, and vulnerable communities across the country. WVI places Vietnamese children at the center of its priorities in all of its local interventions.
Doseba Tua Sinay has traveled to impoverished rural areas of Vietnam, where WVI implements projects on Health and Nutrition, Livelihoods, Child Protection, and Child Participation. What impresses him the most are the bright smiles of the children he meets.
When Typhoon Yagi struck Vietnam, he and his colleagues at WVI took a strategic approach to emergency response, providing direct support to affected regions such as Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Hai Phong, and Thanh Hoa. Despite the hardships and risks, he visited disadvantaged households to connect with and support them.
In these communities, Vietnamese children welcomed him with warmth, treating him like a beloved grandfather or uncle. Deeply moved by their affection, he expressed, “Supporting children is never enough. What truly matters after a storm is ensuring that Vietnamese children and students have safe opportunities to return to school.”

Together with WVI, Doseba Tua Sinay has also implemented the "Increasing the resilience to risks of ethnic minorities in Dien Bien” project in partnership with the German Relief Coalition (ADH). The project focuses on supporting disadvantaged households, children, single parents, and people with disabilities in 14 target communes. Through various initiatives, WVI has improved the lives of more than 66,700 people, including over 33,400 children, particularly those in the most vulnerable groups.
During a visit to Yen Bai province, Doseba Tua Sinay was warmly received by local residents, who deeply appreciated his sincerity and dedication to their well-being.
“We sincerely thank Doseba Tua Sinay and WVI for their timely mobilization of resources to support families affected by Typhoon Yagi. Beyond direct cash assistance, WVI has also provided sanitation kits, water tanks, minor repairs for clean water facilities and schools, training and awareness programs on hygiene, safety policies, and case management for violations of safety regulations,” said Sung Thi May, Vice President of the Red Cross Society of Yên Bái Province.
