Export value of mobile phones reaches over USD24 billion
As of October 15th, the export of mobile phones and related components were valued at USD24.3 billion, up nearly USD6.2 billion compared to the same period last year, reported the General Department of Customs.
The impressive figure helped the industry sector maintain its rank as first in term of export turnover.The commodity has made up more than 19% of the country’s total export value since the beginning of the year.

Specifically, the figure came from three FDI mobile phone producers, including two SamSung plants in BacNinh and Thai Nguyen provinces and one Microsoft plant in BacNinh province.
The second belonged to garments and textiles at USD17.94 billion, a year-on-year rise of USD1.5 billion.
By mid-October, the country had 24 commodities with export value of more than USD1 billion. Other commodities earning significant export turnover were computers, electronic products and their component (USD12 billion), footwear (over USD9.1 billion) and machinery and its devices (over USD6.2 billion)./.
